Pixie-Girl

I can believe things that are true and I can believe things that aren’t true
and I can believe things where nobody knows if they’re true or not

Wow, Purgatory tonight was so awesome. *happy sigh* Granted, I'm fucking tired now, and it left me with adrenaline shakes - but good roleplaying will do that to you. Hats off to Lazarus and to Dave for fabulous plot, and a thanks to Brendan, Corey, Rob, and Shani for wonderful scenes, and of course, thanks to my coterie.

I'm so goddamn tired. It's funny, I wonder... if Adrian had been there, would I have gotten into nearly so much trouble. Hmm.... More thoughts on game later.

And for reference, the correct answer to "Don't you have any respect for our traditions?" Is not, "No. Fuck you. Now get the hell out of my way."

Have I mentioned that I love working at the bookstore? My boss rocks. My favourite gem of wisdom from her:

"If you have to be institutionalized, it's sure as hell beats Ponoka."

Well, fuck. My watch, that has my alarm built into it, just died. I don't know how, it just did. Fuck fuck fuck.

If I promise you I'll be somewhere, and never show up, at least now you'll all know why.

Fuck.

The teensiest, tiniest, sweetest baby was just in our store. 8 weeks old. 7lbs. Half-asleep, with her eyes open.

*sigh*

I want one.

  • Walking downstairs quickly, after just getting off your bike, is a bad idea. Your knees, or at least my knees, will not, in fact, support you.

  • I think that Rick Tyre was in my store today. He's a guy from Purgatory. Either that or he has an identical twin running around the city. But since I don't really know him, at all, I didn't say anything. So I'll never know. One of life's great mysteries.

  • Vertical is bad. Horizontal is good. So my head has decreed.

  • My boss had to leave for 2ish hours today to take her daughter to the MediCenter. In the time she was gone, I almost tripled our sales. Whee. My best was the people who left with $147 worth of books. Go Pixie, go Pixie!

  • My head hurts, my knees hurt, my foot hurts, and I bloody well have to go to rehersal tonight. Blech!

  • Anna (if you still read this) are you coming to BPs tommorow night? I have a present for you...

  • I start work at Second Cup tommorow. Yay.... I hope.

  • Does anyone still read this, or am I just talking to myself? I miss hearing your guys' thoughts on things. Comments brighten my day. I feel as though I've been posting to an empty void though, of late. Like the weblog world just shut down for the summer...

I asked Star what she thought I should write as my bio for the Chorus Line program. She responded with: "Fabulously sexy, and unreasonable intelligent, she is also skilled with a whip and chain. Costuming budgets in this production, however, did not allow for her signature whip, or indeed very much fabric at all. Enjoy the show!" Unfortunately, this will not, in fact, be appearing in the program, but I thought you would all enjoy it.

Speaking of Chorus Line, for those who haven't heard yet (aka most of you) I have been promoted to a principal part in the show. Whee. I will be splitting the part of Bebe. So, if you want to come see the show, you need to come on either September 17th, or 18th. At this point, we are only doing the four shows, but if ticket sales show strong intrest, we'll add more shows. Tickets are already on sale, through Festival Place (449-3378). I'm not sure of exact ticket prices, but you could call them. Also, one of the people in the show has two tickets to sell for opening night (17th). If you are interested, give me a shout.

Well that's all for today, off to cook. That's right, me, cook. Creeeepy....

The Skin Horse has lived longer in the nursery than any of the others. He was so old that his brown coat was bald in pathces and showed the seams underneath, and most of the hairs in his tail had been pulled out to string bead necklaces. He was wise, for he had seen a long succession of mechanical toys arrive to boast and swagger, and by-and-by break their mainspirings and pass away...
What is REAL?” asked the Rabbit one day, when they were lying side by side near the nursery fender, before Nana came to tidy the room. “Does it mean havings things buzz inside you and a stick-out handle?
Real isn’t how you are made,” said the Skin Horse. “It’s a thing that happnes to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real.
Does it hurt?” asked the Rabbit.
Sometimes,” said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful. “When you are REAL you don’t mind being hurt.
Does it happen all at once, like being wound up,” he asked, “or bit by bit?
It doesn’t happen all at once,” said the Skin Horse, “You become. It takes a long time. That’s why it doesn’t often happen to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out, and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don’t matter at all, because once you are Real you can’t be ugly, except to people who don’t understand.

A note to all those I have not yet mentioned it to - I no longer live in Sherwood Park, as of yesterday. I'm now in Edmonton, living with my brother. Would have posted sooner but had no inernet access. Just started my new job today, and I love it except for standing the whole time. My feet hurt. Also my head, but eh, that's sort of normal. Oher than those things, my life is mostly boring. Updates to come later when something intresting happens.
